Shemicka M. Asom M.S.N. FNP-C

Shemicka is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with 6+ years of clinical experience providing exceptional patient care in family medicine, urgent care, and mental health settings. She provides highly individualized patient care plans for individuals who range in age from newborn to the elderly. Shemicka has additional specialty experience in Women’s Health, HIV, substance abuse, transgender care, and holds a DEA X license with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

 

Shemicka completed her undergraduate degree at Cedar Crest College. She then earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner studies at DeSales University. She created this family practice with her husband, Tavershima, with whom she has 3 children that they love to spend time with. Shemicka is a passionate and tireless patient advocate. She was inspired to enter the medical field by her grandmother, and she works to provide the best-in-class care that she wished her grandmother had access to.

Tavershima Asom, Family Nurse Practitioner

Tavershima is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with a wide range of rigorous medical experience, including clinical training in Pediatrics, Women’s Health, and Family and Internal Medicine. Tavershima started this family practice with his wife, Shemicka, and he has made it a priority to treat every patient with the same compassion and quality care that he would provide if they were his own family.

Tavershima was born in Nigeria and immigrated to the US to pursue his dream of higher education in the medical field. Tavershima received a Bachelor of Science at Cedar Crest College. He subsequently achieved a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner studies at DeSales University. There, he received the DeSales University 5 Year Preceptor Award. His publications include The Image of Men in Nursing for the ADVANCE for Nurses magazine. Tavershima entered the medical field after making a promise to his mother that he would take care of her in her old age. He kept his promise and had the privilege and honor to care for her as her Primary Care Provider until the time of her death in 2014.  

Tavershima loves to watch sports and coach his kids in soccer and basketball. He also enjoys cooking for his family.
